For whatever reason you might want do do some Delphi/Pascal on your Linux Distribution using Lazarus as an IDE.
Many people encounter the error, that their sources-folder isn’t set correctly or they miss the package „fpc-source“. For the latter, type this into a terminal to install it:
sudo apt-get install fpc-source
When trying to compile a simple onClick event for example, this is what you get:
Error: source not found: unit /usr/lib/fpc/2.4.0/units/i386-linux/rtl/sysutils.ppu
I had a hard time, finding the right directory so just for the record, here it is (Ubuntu Lucid Lynx + Linux 2.6.32-24-generic):
On Windows it should be C:\lazarus\fpc\2.2.4\source\ or similar.
If you can not find the directory, you are probably missing the package „fpc-source“, which is needed to successfully develop with lazarus.
